Instead, in recent years Mads (pronounced Mazz) has taken his New Nordic cuisine concepts further afield and delighted diners with a terroir-based approach that converts raw materials into exquisitely refined flavors. He’ll be collaborating with Chef Fatih Tutak, who likewise has gained renowned for putting The Dining Room on the list of “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants” in 2017 and again in 2018.

Dishes created for this four-hand culinary collaboration include Chef Mads’s Hamachi with Black Radish and Chestnuts; 30-Day Dry-Aged Duck Served Family Style with Condiments; and Green Coconut with Porcini and Black Truffle. Among dishes by Chef Fatih will be Jerusalem Artichoke with Hazelnut and Yufka; Baby Calamari with Haricot Bean and Herbs; and Smoked Firik Rice.

To enhance this gourmet experience, The House on Sathorn partners with Allegrini, the premium winemaker from Italy which makes the journey even more memorable with perfect wine pairing

Guests not able to attend Chef Mads Refslund’s appearance in Bangkok can take solace: he’ll be collaborating with chefs at other W hotels in the region. His 2018 schedule includes events at W Singapore 23 and 24 November, W Koh Samui 27 November, and W Maldives 4 and 5 December.

Celebrated culinary master makes rare guest chef appearance outside Spain for two nights only at The Dining Room, The House on Sathorn.

The House on Sathorn at W Bangkok hotel already has a reputation as one of the city’s most eclectic and adventurous dining locations. Indeed, Chef Fatih Tutak has guided The House’s main venue, The Dining Room, to the top of Bangkok’s restaurant scene, including of late a spot on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018.

In November, diners will have a chance to enjoy just what makes The House so special when guest Chef Dani García presents an extraordinary 12-course degustation menu.

Dani García earned his first Michelin star in 2000 when he was only 25 years old, adding another star in 2007 at his Calima restaurant in Marbella. In recent years, his restaurants at Màlaga’s Hotel Puente Romano likewise have received numerous awards and lengthened the chef’s long list of accomplishments. Chef Dani García describes his cooking as “cosmopolitan” and the product of many influences, as well as based on multiple concepts. One aspect inspiring all his cuisine, however, is the chef’s Andalusian heritage.

For his two evenings at The Dining Room in Bangkok, Chef Dani García will collaborate with Chef Fatih Tutak on a 12-course degustation menu. Comprising nine courses by Chef Dani and three by Chef Fatih, the menu includes dishes such as Sea Urchin Tart with Black Beans, “Detox” Gazpacho and Scallops, Wagyu Tartar with Beef Consommé, and other outstanding creations.

This December, The House on Sathorn and Sanpellegrino brings back ‘Fine Dining Lovers Guest Chef Series’ at The House on Sathorn by welcoming Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz from 2-Michelin-Starred restaurant Mugaritz Spain for the first time in Thailand, along with Chef Fatih Tutak inviting diners to an extraordinary and exclusive culinary event. For nearly two decades, Spain native Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz has been the creative force behind famed Mugaritz restaurant. The venue in San Sebastian of Spain’s Basque region holds two Michelin stars and is currently number 9 on the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Chef Andoni’s early culinary career included work at no less than Catalonia’s El Bulli, renowned as the home of Chef Ferran Adrià. In the years since, along with establishing Mugaritz he’s also authored or contributed to more than 20 books on cookery. Among several awards Chef Andoni has received is the S. Pellegrino “Chef’s Choice Award”, bestowed upon him by fellow chefs in 2006 and 2012.

Chef Andoni’s “techno-emotional” approach to cuisine uses advanced food technologies not only to produce novel dining pleasure but likewise to evoke an emotional effect for all guests to ensure a great experience and enjoyment of gastronomy.

Gaggan, Bangkok, Claims No.1 Spot for Third Consecutive Year

Before an audience of the region’s most celebrated chefs, industry VIPs and international media, the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, was announced at an awards ceremony at the W Hotel in Bangkok.

Thailand ties with China, Japan and Singapore with nine restaurants on the list. Gaggan, Bangkok, claims the No.1 spot for a third consecutive year. Gaggan retains the dual titles of The Best Restaurant in Asia, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, and The Best Restaurant in Thailand, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.

The 2017 list welcomes 10 new entries, including four from Thailand. The four new Bangkok restaurants are Sühring (No.13), The Dining Room at The House on Sathorn (No.36), Le Du (No.37) and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Bangkok (No.40).

Also representing Thailand are familiar favorites Nahm (No.5), Issaya Siamese Club (No.21), Eat Me (No.31) and Bo.Lan (No.19), the latter making a welcome return to the list.
