<p>Containing essential oils that have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, when used in cuisine the lavender bloom imparts a delicate sweet floral flavour. Inspired by these attributes, Executive Chef Sebastiaan Hoogewerf and his talented pastry chefs at The Okura Prestige Bangkok have created a wonderfully refreshing Lavender Afternoon Tea at Up &amp; Above Bar.</p>

<p>From July through to September guests can indulge in sweet treats that include lavender &amp; blackcurrant macarons, lavender &amp; mango chocolate bon bon, cassis &amp; blueberry cake, blackcurrant cream &amp; chocolate biscuit, lavender bavarois, tropical gel, merinque, Hokkaido milk panacotta, blackcurrant lava and organic blueberry scones with clotted cream and preserves. Fresh-brewed coffee, premium Mariage Frères or Saro tea are the perfect companions to these indulgences, which are complimented by savoury bites such as herb cream cheese &amp; vine tomato tartlet and smoked Norwegian salmon &amp; wasabi.</p>
<p>The Lavender Afternoon Tea is available daily from 1 July – 30 September 2021, 12:00 – 17:00 at Up &amp; Above Bar. Priced from Baht 1,600++ inclusive of a shot of lavender surprise and coffee or tea for 2 persons</p>

<p>The Okura Prestige Bangkok has great pleasure in announcing that MOF chocolatier Chef Frédéric Hawecker will be visiting the hotel on 12 March 2019 to create special French mignardises with Japanese influences at Up &amp; Above Bar between 2 – 5 p.m.</p>
<p><span id="more-16189"></span>A native of the south of France, Chef Frédéric was awarded the prestigious Meilleurs Ouvrier de France title in 2011. Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (shortened to MOF) denotes that the recipient is one of the best craftsmen in France in his field. This award for special abilities is unique in the world and highly regarded by fellow professionals.</p>
<p>Chef Frédéric previously taught at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie in Yssingeaux, France and currently consults and conducts classes around the world. In 2002 he opened his own chocolate shop and patisserie in Chateaurenard, a few miles from Avignon.</p>
<p>At Up &amp; Above Bar Chef Frédéric will be putting his considerable skills into a selection of mignardises such as goji and osmanthus, rising sun, blue mountain and matcha cheesecake, all of which can be enjoyed as special additions to the Tsubaki Afternoon Tea set.</p>
<p>The Tsubaki Afternoon Tea with special mignardises by MOF Chef Frédéric Hawecker is available exclusively on 12 March 2019, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Up &amp; Above Bar. Priced from Baht 1,290++ inclusive of premium coffee or tea for 2 persons.</p>
