VIVIN Grocery is thrilled to announce the latest installment of its Grocerant Takeover menu series, featuring the dynamic duo, Chefs Amerigo Tito Sesti and Chef Yoan Martin from the anticipated “Electric Sheep” eatery.

For June 2024, the VIVIN Grocery Grocerant Takeover menu will be available, created by these talented chefs who have transformed VIVIN Grocery’s Thai-organic, artisanal, and natural ingredients into sumptuous dishes with an exquisite Italian touch.

Before Chefs Amerigo Tito Sesti and Yoan Martin ventured to create “Electric Sheep,” set to launch in the last quarter of 2024, they were previously the driving force behind acquiring a Michelin star and a Michelin Green star for J’aime by Jean-Michel Lorain Bangkok. Renowned for their revolutionary adaptation of applying local ingredients in fine French dishes, they have consistently followed their sustainable ethos, emphasizing “root to tip” and environmental responsibility whilst maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence.

The main-sized dish will be organic carrot gnocchi served with sobrasada sauce and smoked ricotta, showcasing the quality of VIVIN Grocery’s organic carrots, local Thai cheese, and the rich flavors of sobrasada. For dessert, the chefs will offer a unique take on tiramisu, made with organic coffee, mascarpone, stale baguette bread with a sprinkling of Thai cacao powder and a dash of Thailand’s very own Grappa from GranMonte Vineyard and Winery, Khao Yai.

VIVIN Grocery has expanded its range of local Thai, artisanal, and natural groceries to include Thai-grown weed, which they’ve branded as ‘v.weed’ (selection) pronounced, “vi.weed”.

The founders who are fond of the plant, have like so many, waiting for the approval of safe Marijuana use to come into legalisation. Once it happened, they took the chance and opportunity to be part of this latest movement happening in Thailand, and now supply a number of premium strains of Marijuana buds at their Grocery and Bistro at Ekamai Complex, but will extend to more varieties at different quality and price points.

The VIVIN Grocery team realised many were excited and curious to buy but not everyone wants to head for the dark-neon-lit clubs or bright cafe lights of a dispensary or have to shop exclusively for weed, and therefore VIVIN Grocery sought to offer a weed dispensary in their own style. Tucked away on the second floor of the VIVIN Grocery bistro in Ekamai, is a stylish and discreet weed display, in a cool and ambient environment. Visitors are welcome to browse or shop for top buds while they do their groceries or whilst having a relaxing meal made up of local artisanal produce or even pair meals with local Thai wine by GranMonte Vineyard and Winery.

Visitors are welcome to smell the aromas and learn more about the different bud strains and their effects. Be it beginners or “budding” veterans, VIVIN Grocery’s dispensary feels warm and welcomes all to explore (except children under 20 years old and pregnant women of course who are prevented from consuming by law).

Weed paraphernalia; tools and equipment like pipes, trays, and rolling papers are also available for those on-the-go, so once you arrive at your destination, you’ll be ready to roll or spark up without taking any other pit stops.

VIVIN Grocery Limited Edition ‘Chorizo en Manteca Fluffy Omelette’     

VIVIN Grocery purveyors and producers of fine, local Thai, artisanal, natural and organic groceries located at Ekamai Complex, reopen their gourmet market dine-in restaurant with a new and limited edition version of their locally-famed fluffy omelette, the VIVIN Grocery Chorizo en Manteca Fluffy Omelette.

To celebrate the reopening since the Government relaxed in-dining restrictions, the VIVIN Grocery team, from the 20th September 2021 will offer a limited edition fluffy omelette recipe which incorporates a new cold cut, “Chorizo en Manteca”. “Chorizo en Manteca” literally translates to Chorizo in Lard or Butter. The chorizos are dried for a few days before being immersed in their own pork fat (saindoux) to create an intense, flavorful and rich “spreadable” cold cut delicacy. The combination of ingredients such as garlic, seasoning spices; cumin, sweet paprika and herbs, thyme and bay leaves creates a potently aromatic and multi-layered flavour dimension. At VIVIN Grocery they are sold in jars for easy storage and use.

For this limited edition fluffy omelette recipe the Chorizo en Manteca is placed delicately inside the omelette, both lard and chunks of Chorizo, before they are sent to be flipped live at the table, in front of the customer! The combination of smooth and bouncy omelette combined with the intensity of the chorizo’s sweet paprika, cumin and mixed herb flavours, makes for an explosive yet refined experience. This omelette is best paired with Sarladaise potatoes as the eggy foam will roll into the potatoes, absorbing all that spicy awesomeness. All fluffy omelette orders come with certified organic mixed green side salad and slices of artisanal baguette bread.
