For one day only on 14th June 2016, Chef Ken Hom presents a cooking demonstration and a pan-Asian lunch and dinner menu at VIU

Together with the British Embassy Bangkok, The St. Regis Bangkok is bringing to Thailand the UK’s internationally renowned Chef Ken Hom to promote British ingredients and produce under the campaign Food is GREAT Britain.

Chef Ken Hom’s cooking demonstration, lunch and dinner menu will be available at VIU, Level 12 of The St. Regis Bangkok for one day only on Tuesday, 14th June 2016 offering Thai foodies an experience of British ingredients and produce in the modern world of cuisine. VIU will be featuring British wine exports, Scottish Salmon, British beef, and more.

2016 is the Year of British Food. Chef Ken Hom’s promotion at VIU is part of a series of events throughout the year to celebrate the very best in British food across the UK and overseas, and to inspire people everywhere to choose British food for the best in taste and quality.

Much in demand for his entertaining cooking demonstrations, celebrated BBC TV Chef Ken Hom is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest authorities on oriental cooking. Known as the West’s most famous Chinese cookery expert, Chef Ken is hailed as the man who transformed wok cooking into an art form. His recently opened 92-seat MEE restaurant located within the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the city’s first luxury pan-Asian restaurant, was awarded one Michelin star less than 12 months since opening.

Join the renowned Chef for a rare and exclusive cooking demonstration and a three-course lunch menu at THB 1,500++ per person. An innovative 3-course dinner menu 3-course menu with wine pairing is also available at THB 3,500++ per person.

About Ken Hom

Ken Hom was appointed a “GREAT” Britain campaign ambassador in 2014 and awarded OBE by HM The Queen for services to the culinary arts 2009, recognising his achievements and the impressive social and historical impact he made on the way the UK has ‘adopted’ Chinese cuisine, which has now become one of the nation’s favourites. In 2007, he was awarded with an honorary doctorate from Oxford Brookes University for his ‘outstanding success within the international food world’ and to recognise him as one of the world’s most notable chefs with a highly successful career in the media, as an entrepreneur and as a supporter of charity and education. At that time he was also appointed as Founding Patron of Oxford Gastronomica, the Centre for Food, Drink and Culture at Oxford Brookes University, and donated his entire library of almost 3,000 cookery books for the benefit of the catering students.
