Michelin Starred Italian Chef Alessandra Del Favero at a 19th World Gourmet Festival’s Master Class

Chef Alessandra del Favero together with Chef Oliver Piras, of 1 Michelin-star AGA Ristorante in San Vito di Cadore, Italy presented “Lentils, Red Fruits, Lavage, Roast Potatoes Broth”, one of their much loved dishes, at a master class of the 19th World Gourmet Festival, a Bangkok’s major gastronomic event hosted annually by Anantara Siam Bangkok.

1 Michelin-star AGA Ristorante in San Vito di Cadore, Italy

Alessandra grew up in Pieve di Cadore, Venice and graduated from Alma – The International School of Italian Cuisine. She spent time in Brusaporto (one of the temples of Italian cuisine), the Da Vittorio restaurant of Fratelli Cerea and worked with Norbert Niederkofler at St. Hubertus at the Hotel Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano. She then returned home, to the family hotel-restaurant in San Vito di Cadore, wanting to reconnect with her past and deepen her understanding of the land. Here, she opened AGA restaurant with Oliver Piras, whom she met while studying at Alma, and together they developed a menu with a focus on the land and local surroundings; with many of the herbs foraged from just outside of the restaurant. In 2016, they were awarded a Michelin-star.

Japanese Chef Hiroaki Ishizuka of 1 Michelin star Kien restaurant in the Akasaka district, Tokyo,  conducted a cooking demonstration session exclusively at the 18th World Gourmet Festival, a major gastronomic event in Bangkok, hosted annually by  Anantara Siam Bangkok.

The dish presented on this occasion was a Kuruma Prawn in Japanese Pumpkin Dumpling, Slow Cooked Duck Breast, Snow Peas”, which was one of the delightful 5-course menu served during the festival.

San Pellegrino Presents Master Class of Contemporary Australian Cuisine at Freebird Restaurant in Bangkok

San Pellegrino recently held a master class on contemporary Australian cuisine as part of their “Fine Dining Lovers Guest Chef Series” at Freebird restaurant in Bangkok. The event featured Drew Nocente, executive chef of Singapore’s acclaimed Salted & Hung restaurant, together with Freebird’s executive chef Dallas Cuddy. The two Australian chefs demonstrated how to prepare some modern Australian dishes. Guests were also given the chance to taste the dishes paired with nice Australian wines as well as San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, premium mineral water from Italy.
