TWINS CHEFS THOMAS & MATHIAS SUHRING WELCOME CHEF GERT DE MANGELEER FROM 3-MICHELIN STAR “HERTOG JAN” FOR AN EXCLUSIVE SIX-HAND DINNER
13 to 15 December 2017
Chefs Thomas and Mathias from restaurant Sühring in Bangkok are very excited to welcome Chef Gert de Mangeleer from restaurant “Hertog Jan” in Bruges. This exclusive six-hands dinner will see his first time cooking in Thailand for three nights only. From the 13th December to the 15th December.
Chef Gert took over Hertog Jan with his culinary soulmate Joachim Boudens in 2005. Building on his experience working for top chefs in Belgium, Gert transformed the restaurant’s traditional kitchen into something more refreshing, even revolutionary. Focusing on the ways flavours, structures and contrasts take shape, he makes sure that his dishes stimulate all the senses and carry his signature style.
Hertog Jan was awarded its first Michelin star in 2006. The second followed in 2009 and the third in 2011.
German Twins Chefs Thomas & Mathias Sühring’s culinary journey began while spending their annual school summer breaks at their grandparent’s farm. At that time they got introduced to old – school cooking techniques like fermentation, pickling, smoking, drying and curing which are rooted in the German tradition.
Since March 2016, Sühring showcases the best of modern German fare inspired by childhood memories and family recipes. All elevated to the level of haute cuisine and combining the essence of traditional dishes with contemporary Central European influences.
“Restaurant “Hertog Jan” is an institution in Europe for its modern Belgium cuisine and we are honored to welcome Chef Gert. Together we share the same passion for ingredients and we are looking forward to working with him in the kitchen of Sühring.”
The six-hands collaboration dinner is priced at 7,900 THB ++ per person. An optional wine pairing is also available for 2,900 THB ++.
