"Aesthetic Experience" by Aree Soothipunt, National Artist in the field of Visual Arts, in the year 2555
(2012), at the age of 93, showcased a collection of artwork reflecting life, beauty, and experiences
through his paintings from 2021-2023. The exhibition presented his creative works from the later
years of the artist's career, where he conveyed his thoughts through art in the form of contour
drawings and color washes without using shading. This approach is known as Neo Drawing and
Painting, which requires concentration and mindfulness to capture lines with stability.

Shito Shito by Aya Ito – อาญะ อิโตะ

Shito shito is an onomatopoeia that is used in Japanese language to describe the quietly drizzling
rainfalls. When I look at shito shito rainfalls, I feel like my mind has been emptied…as if all troubles
in my heart and my mind get cleanly washed by it. At the end of each fallen rain, water splashes
lightly. And when a flower blooms, it seems to me that it gets properly nourished by the rain.
Droplets of water formed in a cloud high up in the sky, fell from the sky as rainfalls, and made the
flowers bloom on the ground. I wanted to capture the beauty of the fleeting moments in this series
of work.
shito shito 【≒drizzle】 shito shito เป็นหนึ่งในคำ Onomatopoeia ที่ใช้ในภาษาญี่ปุ่น
เพื่อบรรยายถึงสายฝนที่ตกลงมาแบบปรอยๆ อย่างเงียบเชียบ เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามองสายฝน shito shito
ที่ลอยอยู่ในอากาศ ข้าพเจ้ารู้สึกเหมือนอยู่ในสภาวะว่างเปล่า ราวกับว่าสิ่งรบกวนสมาธิทั้งในใจ
และในหัวของข้าพเจ้าถูกชะล้างออกไปอย่างหมดจดงดงาม ที่ปลายเส้นสายที่วาดโดยเม็ดฝน
หยดน้ำก็แตกกระจายเบาๆ และในขณะที่ดอกไม้บาน ก็รู้สึกเหมือนได้รับการบำรุง

slipped away at dawn. This story inspired a series of haunting artworks showcased in an exhibition,
capturing the eternal quest for love of a shapeshifter that remains just out of reach.

Underground: Mit Jai Inn is the artist’s first exhibition made to be experienced in near-total darkness.
Even the bright, brilliantly colored abstractions that comprise most of Mit Jai Inn’s oeuvre, however,
operate in calculated ambiguity. His works unfold through evocative metaphors—tunnels, sunrises
and sunsets, gifts—inviting each viewer on a unique journey into a future we are not yet conscious
of. Underground buries us in a primordial cave: a space humans have historically used for
imprisonment, rest, divination, and re-imaging the world outside. In the dim light, with our sight
limited, we turn inward. We allow our eyes to adjust. We find that we can, in fact, see in the dark.
Curated by Ariana Chaivaranon, Underground: Mit Jai Inn—in conjunction with All Under Heaven:
Ariana Chaivaranon—is a paired solo exhibition reflecting on the positionality of “under.”
The exhibitions emerging from this collaboration unfold from spaces “under”: places of inferiority,
growth potential, surveillance, secrecy, hierarchy, rhizomatic networks, obedience, and fomenting
revolution. Underground and All Under Heaven take up two complimentary angles on vision—the
panopticon and the oculus—to illuminate how limitations on what is visible can both impede and
catalyze our movement toward alternative political futures. As we descend into Mit Jai Inn’s
Underground, we encounter ourselves in the human-scale sculptures imprisoned in fabric chambers.
Immersion in physical and metaphorical darkness prompts us to recalibrate our guiding values and
forge a new path toward freedom.

LANNA ANNAL ANNEX further explores the connection between Lanna Kingdom and its descendants
in the contemporary world. In this continuation of its previous show in ‘LANNAANNAL’ in Chiang Mai,
Sudaporn Teja delves into two stories, entangled by their homeland, of King Inthawichayanon and a
hairdresser with Lanna lineage. Focusing on the act of hair extensions appearing in the short video,
which contrasted the act of cutting one’s own hair in her previous show, Sudaporn bridges the past
of her heritage to the present. While cutting hair signifies equivocal symbolisms of either protesting
or surrendering, all the while, unknowingly assimilating into the paramounted influence, the process
of haircare and hair extensions untangles the overlooked consequences leading to today.
The video investigates the remnants of her birthplace, its former empire, and the king of the late
empire, believed to protect herself and her family until today. As dim light reflects golden dust from
the moondial onto a sundial of a broken hairpin, and sawdust echoes the stories hidden by Siam
state, the faint glint threads us back to consider the shreds of messages left by the last king of an
abdicated Kingdom. LANNA ANNAL ANNEX let us ponder the omitted history, swallowed by the
centralization of Siam state.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked a new era of intellectual enlightenment. It shines brightly,
illuminating even the darkest of nights. However, its arrival has also been met with fear and
apprehension. Some are mesmerized by its beauty, while others are bewildered by its potential to
deceive. The image of people standing on a rooftop, waiting for something to descend from the sky,
is both awe-inspiring and unsettling. Could it be AI, extraterrestrial beings, or new divine entities?
These futuristic beings could lead us to unprecedented heights or destroy us altogether. The
photographs in this exhibition, created by AI fed with textual data, evoke both awe and questions.
Can they transcend conventional photography? Are they truly photographic art?

accordance with our perspective of nature and city life. Living in this world, we need to cooperate,
adapt, and living with others. Our differences blended into a unique identity in each local area.
“Home” is way of life : represents human’s relationship with the natural world using the technique of
glass decoration and gradient color. Resulting in the pictorial atmosphere of forest, mountains and
ocean. “Way of life” is home” is a rendering of the surrounding atmosphere of the commercial
community area showing the overlapping experience happening in the same space. It creates a
community identity that stimulates visitors' sense of place. This duo exhibition showcases the value
of living in today's world. It also encourages the appreciation of the relationship between humans
and nature and their way of life.

The art space was established in November 2022 by French artist Arnaud Nazare-Aga. It is
exclusively dedicated to showcasing his colorful sculptures made of resin and fiberglass. Nestled in
the heart of Sathorn's business district on Suanplu Road, this space spans a total area of 350 square
meters. It not only provides an opportunity to explore the artist's works but also offers a unique
experience: an exclusive selection of sculptures from The Little Prince art collections, all while
enjoying coffee and homemade pastries at The Little Prince Official Café. Starting from 5 p.m., the
Vol de Nuit bar opens late, allowing visitors to continue to appreciate the artwork while savoring
cocktails or glasses of wine.

by Tawatchai Somkong, Editor-in-Chief of Fine Art Magazine. It is intended to garner a connection

David Jensz, an Australian sculptor, is currently undertaking a 3-month artist residency at MATDOT in
Bangkok. His work delves into the concept of imagining oneself beyond the universe, where space
and objects move past, reflecting on the finite yet unbounded nature of the universe and its
expansion. Through this exploration, He becomes acutely aware of his intrinsic connection to the
present moment in time and space.

which remain fantastic despite its existence for over hundred years. Colonial style scenic buildings
surrounded by stories and way of life in the past are unavailable on other roads. Being aged over
hundred years, Play art house which has been renovated while preserving antique atmosphere is well
prepared to exhibit a wide variety of arts created by various artists within and outside the community
so as to encourage connectivity and harmony.

without any fixed format. As time passes We may not be able to remember the story that happened
in the image. But we still feel and experience the emotions and feelings of the moment precisely. If
that feeling will change on the plot, it may happen when time is a condition that makes us feel
different.

international cast of artists forming Oh La la! Promises a skin-deep sensual experience. Will it be the
Libertinism movement, the Marquis de Sade’s extreme literature, the Origin of the world by Manet,
the vivid paintings of brothels by Toulouse Lautrec, the Second sex by Simone de Beauvoir, or the
first openly erotic movie Emmanuelle, the French have their way to bring the subject of sex to center
stage. Featuring painters, installation and sound artists, videographers and photographers, Oh Lala
is a tribute to all these great souls who have fought for our sexual liberation. Staged in Pulse Gallery
Silom, in the notorious Patpong Red Light district, this high voltage erotic exhibition is a one-night

“REBEL’S DEBUT” Art Exhibition is an exhibition created by the collaboration of 7 local artists, a group of
new-generation artists who create works of art that are filled with the current state of fashion. These
works of art are different and diverse in terms of conceptual content and techniques of art. Some are
inspired by everyday stories and events, some are created from social issues, some communicate the
boundless globalization of the digital industry, and some look for the essence or crisis of human life in the
early 21st century, Although these artists are full of unique ideas and aspects, they are rarely seen as
some of them live in remote areas. Some sent messages about sensitive issues, others stayed silent to
create works on their own. The purpose of this Rebel’s Debut art exhibition is to promote and give these
artists the opportunity to publicize their works to lead to an exchange of ideas and artistic perspectives for
both artists and viewers.

ผลงานศิลปะของพวกเขาเหล่านี้จึงมีความแตกต่างและหลากหลาย ทั้งในด้านแง่คิด เนื้อหา
และเทคนิควิธีการทางศิลปะบางคนได้แรงบรรดาลใจจากเรื่องราวและเหตุการณ์ในชีวิตประจำวัน

respect the diversity of others. The 10 BLOCKS Vol. 1 Exhibition showcases unique creative artworks
from 10 artists who want to present ideas for social space to realize the value, experiences, or
perspectives of each artist through a block wall, size 330 x 230 centimeters, presenting a variety of
human thoughts.

CLIMATE OF CHANGES explores three major issues of today: climate change, with the SEVEN
CLIMATE SINS AND FOUR LAST THINGS series; the digital world in which we are immersed and the
place occupied by the artist within it, with the MÉTAVERS/ MY OWN PRIVATE METAVERSE series;
and the ideological and societal currents affecting us, with the A WORLD RELIGION series. Each
series consists of composite tableaux using humour and surrealism to explore different aspects of its
theme creating a fictional, dreamlike narrative. Thierry Facon’s images are large, intricate frescoes
with luscious, vibrant colours and textures, in which he pays homage to (and subjugates) his
favourite works in the history of art and the cultures of the countries he has lived in on five
continents and that inspire his visual universe.

Metal-wire Sculpture
VS Gallery proudly presents “Tangle” an art exhibition by “Iron Noodle” (a.k.a Vatcharapong
Tangpongpaiboon, winner of the Young Thai Artist Award in Photography category in 2012), which
features sculptures made of metal wires. In “Tangle”, the artist reflects on his life as someone who
grew up in a Thai-Chinese family, experience multiculturalism of living under Chinese family traditions
while consuming pop culture media through Eastern and Western cartoons and movies, and also
receiving news and other values of diversified cultures. Each of values has its own principles of truth,
goodness, and beauty, which are both consistent and contradictory to the others. When we combine
various beliefs and principles of living life together, there is some logics that have not overlapped and
felt confusing. The artist portray this phenomenon by using the technique of metal wire sculpture and
his humor based on observing everyday life. The stories of characters Iron Noodle chooses to display
in “Tangle” are diverse, ranging from godly characters from Chinese mythology, cartoon characters
from Japan, also images from news and television programs. This exhibition will present all these
interconnected subjects which might look complicated, but it well reflects an individual in the Thai-
Chinese multicultural society of the new generation.

Opened in 2003, 100 Tonson Gallery traversed regional and international boundaries to become a pioneering platform for advancing diverse contemporary art practices. Over 20-
years, Tonson has ardently represented its artists in over a hundred exhibitions, international art fairs and museum displays. 100 Tonson has been the sole Southeast Asian gallery to exhibit at Art Basel in Switzerland (2011), and has also participated in Art Basel Hong
Kong (2013-2015). In 2020, Tonson founder Ek-Anong ‘Aey’ Phanachet took the decisive step to transform the gallery into the 100 Tonson Foundation with an altruistic mandate to
support and promote Thai art. Building upon previous successes from a career in finance, Phanachet has long been a committed benefactor to the arts, allowing her to cement lasting
bonds with prestigious international institutions. The momentum towards a non-profit site started in 2015 when the gallery began inviting artists for challenging six-month project based exhibitions. Extended projects or residencies will continue as part of the Foundation’s long-term focus, as will art that engages through participatory and/or interactive approaches. Beyond a physical exhibition space, the Foundation also bolsters and nurtures
Thai arts deeper infrastructure by giving generous grants to artists, curators, writers and researchers to fulfill independent projects and exhibitions. Independently determined, the Foundation has begun early collaborative support with international institutions, with
significant upcoming projects launching from late 2020 on. One of the only foundations in Thailand devoted to advance in contemporary art, the 100 Tonson Foundation is broad-

For the third and final part of Udomsak Krisanamis’ ALL IS PRETTIER., three-part project at 100 Tonson Foundation, STRIKE brings seemingly disparate, unconnected strands and narratives together in one space. STRIKE is like a compilation record of greatest hits, united not by theme but by the fact that there are the greatest hits. It is the final act, the last supper, the crescendo just before the end of a sonata when tension escalates to a shrilling
height, and then all is silent. STRIKE compiles Krisanamis’ paintings over the last decades, from the small feelings to the magnum opus, from the drawings to the noodle collages, from the crates to the canvases. Appropriation, simulacra, abstraction, reduction, assemblage, and invitation, a convergence of movements, forms, and references coming together in a glorious dance.

This moving and magical exploration of Harit Srikhao’s early work compiles photographs, notes and
diary entries from his high school and university years, from 2009 to 2016, the overwhelming
transition from adolescence to adulthood. ‘Cumulus’ showers us with images drenched in warmth and
vulnerability, wonder and melancholia: his loving parents asleep on a sofa in each other’s arms, their
home stained by the epic floods of 2011; self-contemplation in a bathtub; two happy boys backlit and

GalileOasis Galileo Galilei, an Italian astronomer-physicist whose life was portrayed in Bertolt Brecht’s Leben des Galilei (Life of Galilei) started our collaboration as Theater 28 in 1985. The
thought-provoking episodes of this controversial polymath have inspired us that art and science combined reflects human ambition to understand the universe with his feet grounded to the earth.
Oasis This plot of land across the canal from bustling Siam Square, Bangkok’s prime commercial hub, is hidden among urban grassroots community of Cham Muslims whose ancestors migrated from Cambodia over two hundred years ago. Without access by cars, 20 shophouses were built for lease. 45 years have passed, the over-populated residence was rundown, some tenants turned their living quarters into gambling and drug-dealing dens. It was time for an overhaul. In Perspective Six Theater 28 members started putting in their savings for renovations, discussing ways to achieve goals in providing a community that is open to dynamic cultural experiences, an artist hub where the accomplished and the neophytes exchange their aesthetics and practices, a common space that welcomes visitors and audiences from all walks of life to meet, enjoy, and
engage in dialogues. Design Choices We agreed to leave traces of the history of the buildings, as statement –a remaining witness of the time past, with a new, hopeful mission and interpretation. Vibrant Interactions GalileOasis founders have strong ties with various creative sectors both local and international. Our networks include musicians, visual artists, designers, dancers/choreographers, theatre practitioners, film-makers, writers and critics. We share
Sir Herbert Read’s conviction that Arts are important to individual and community quality of life. Given chances to express, communicate, engage, is how we learn to open our mind, listen to other people, and reach new possibilities. Since our gradual opening at the end of 2021, we have drawn friends, old and new, to invent, collaborate, or simply sit back and enjoy casual conversations
amid the aroma of fresh coffee, unique food , live music, and get inspired. Getting to Know You Our small scale hotel GalileOasis offers a closer look into Baan Krua community. Walking or bicycling
by Saen Saeb canal could make you forget that you are in the busiest district in the very heart of Bangkok. Baan Krua has two piers that you can hop on and off the daily boat ride which serves passengers along the 18 kilometer waterways. A totally different experience in observing people’s lifestyles as opposed to being stuck in exhaust-polluted traffic jam throughout infamous Bangkok streets. Our focus is not only artistic, but educational and socially-committed as well.
Discussion sessions followed theater and music performances. Art talks and workshops took place at our gallery and other exhibition spaces. Home-grown regional artists were welcome with much
respect and appreciation. School children and young members of the communities around us joined our arts-for-development projects.Working together is the best way to get to know each other. We want to be a constructive partner of the community.

“The Texture” is a solo exhibition by P7, a contemporary artist who has a passion in experimenting
with new concepts and consistently crafting unique series of works that diverge from his previous
endeavors. In this exhibition, P7 presents a new series of works that inspire viewers to unleash their
imagination through paintings, sculptures, and installations, all exclusively created for display in the
Private Viewing Room at JWD Art Space.

The inspiration for this exhibition derives from the concept of “Invisible Things.” P7 has creatively
crafted his works from the things he observed, without adhering to any preconceived plans or
patterns. These pieces serve as a translation of his emotions in that moment. The result is artworks
that depart from the familiar, allowing viewers a window into another perspective of art. This artistic
endeavor can be likened to an experiment, where the artist combines his expert technique with a
fondness for Dadaism and Avant-garde, resulting in unique paintings, sculptures, and installations.

Upon entering the exhibition, P7 invites everyone to engage with the artworks depicting familiar
objects. He has skillfully integrated elements that introduce an ambiguity, igniting curiosity in all.

However, P7 also encourages everyone to interpret this ambiguity freely, allowing your imagination
to lead you to your own understanding.

About the Artist

Known for his realistic paintings, many might not have had the chance to encounter another aspect
of P7’s artistic range. Even though he has a passion for exploring new concepts and techniques, he
consistently leaves behind his distinctive signature, allowing viewers to unmistakably recognize his
creations as P7’s works.

Not only are collectors keen on acquiring his pieces, but also various renowned brands and services
are enthusiastic about collaborating with him. Despite repeated exposure to P7’s works through both
domestic and international media, the demand to possess his creations has never waned over the
past two decades.

His artworks are open to viewers’ imagination, inviting everyone to use their own understanding and
experiences to interpret them. As an artist, he also incorporates the skills and experiences he has
acquired through training to create his works. This element significantly enriches each piece.

As a contemplative individual who enjoys asking questions and dares to explore new ideas, this
fosters the continuous evolution of P7’s works. He has always strived to develop his work. Moreover,

Lek Kiatsirikajorn, born in 1977. He graduated in painting from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University in 2000 before shifting his interest to the field of photography. He
decided to pursue his new-found interest and went on to study Photography at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth in the UK.
Lek’s works focus on memories and realities. His visual language plays with both the obvious and the ambiguous with deep and profound meanings. His photographs often show a reality
of Thai society, and the reality he documented powerfully poses questions back to the audience about the society they live in.

Our perspectives may vary, much like how our perception and appreciation of each person's work
depend on the experiences and imagination we bring to what we see. The artworks by Witaya Put-
Pong in this exhibition evoke questions and interpretations. The skillful use of techniques in creating
dimension on paper will result in images and perspectives that are uniquely individual and different.
When we change our way of looking, we may discover details from different angles that present a
different picture. This is similar to what Witaya aims to achieve – sometimes conveying the artist's

The exhibition's title, ENDLESS PRAYER: เพ็งๆ พาๆ หาๆ ฤๅๆ “Peng Peng – Pa Pa – Ha Ha – Rue Rue”
invokes the incantation of Thai famous monk, Phrarajbrahmayan. This incantation is also known as
the chant of wealth, which is believed to bring luck and prosperity to those who have faith. This
intriguing title underscores a significant aspect in Thai culture, where beliefs are intricately woven
into the fabric of capitalist society.

PULSION 11TH OF NOVEMBER IN PHLOEN CHIT: Welcome to "PULSION" featuring the works of
three exceptional artists, Pedno from Canada, Gelo Zarsuelo from the Philippines and GJ Kuijpers
from Neatherlands. Pulsion. A subconscious act of drive and impulse of human for their desires. This
triple exhibition is a revelation of human emotions and a journey in unveiling intimacy. Pedno's art
delves into seduction, sensuality, and emotions, inviting you to explore your innermost feelings
through his unique creations. Gelo Zarsuelo, in his first international exhibition, challenges norms
with his art centered around sexuality and intimacy. GJ Kuijpers works with mixed techniques such
as acrylic, ink, chalk and oil paint. Themes that can be seen in the work are man and his
environment; the city, the river and landscapes. In his portraits, Kuijpers tries to bring out what lies
behind our mask, the dark side, the side that our surroundings do not see. This is also reflected in
the result: although the portraits look straight at you, you feel a hidden world of emotions with each

The Jim Thompson Art Center (JTAC) is committed to fostering artistic activities and creating space for and experiences of contemporary art in the social context since 2003. As we accommodate expanded programs in our new facilities, our aim is to be an inclusive art organization that addresses critical issues emerging in our locale that resonate with the regional and global community. We have collaborated with our extensive network made up of the local community and international cultural institutions in order to facilitate relevant and meaningful public programs to serve trans-generation constituencies and future generations. Jim Thompson also curates local, regional, and international
exhibition; conducts educational and outreach programs; produce publications; and networks.
Organized in collaboration with regional and international guest curators, previous exhibitions include Temporary Insanity by Pinaree Sanpitak (2004), Stitching the Wound by Arahmaiani Feisal (2006), Missing Links curated by Gridthiya Gaweewong, director of Jim Thompson Art Center.

Homo Urbanus The City-matographic Odyssey is on-going project and a touring exhibition by a duo artist, Bêka & Lemoine, shown in Bordeaux, Prague, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Graz, besides the exhibition translates their latest mega-project, a free-wheeling journey around the world, as an immersive environment that explores the urban creature that offering a vibrant tribute to what we have been most cruelly deprived of in times of lockdown and social distancing: namely the public spaces. The unconventional cinematic pieces that result reveal how even a simple gesture can spark wonder and hint at the silent rules that govern our societies. Shot with sensorial vitality and unusual proximity, these films question how the built environment affects human behavior by framing, ordering, and directing the way we collectively make use of space in the city. Sensitive and sharp observers, Bêka & Lemoine devote particular attention to moments of vulnerability, exposing fragilities and tensions, as well as our remarkable ability to adapt to an environment in which power, efficiency, and competitiveness are increasingly dominant values. The program accompanying the exhibition investigates this aspect further by exploring different degrees of freedom in public space. Bêka & Lemoine Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine are visual artists who work in a variety of media, such as video, installation, photography, and books. They experiment with new narrative and cinematic forms to explore how people experience, perceive, and relate to space from an emotional, social, and cultural standpoint. Their films are widely shown at renowned museums and cultural institutions, as well as various biennials and international film festivals. Together, Bêka and Lemoine have created over thirty movies, which were filmed in twenty different countries. Among them are ‘Koolhaas Houselife’ (2008), ‘Barbicania’ (2014), ‘The Infinite Happiness’ (2015), ‘Moriyama San’ (2017), and ‘Tokyo Ride’ (2020).

“How creativity could enhance daily experiences for urban life?” The city is a gathering place for a
variety of people with vastly different needs. As such, we and DOW (Department Of Wonder) are
always searching for other young blood creators with whom we can create, develop, and exhibit.
Under the theme of expanding the experiences of urbanites, we’re looking for ideas that break limits
and make the impossible possible, all while having fun. We welcome creators in Fashion & Textile,
Product Design, and Visual Arts to submit works that are creative, functional, unique and, most
importantly, showcase how clever designs can improve the quality of urban life.

Ladyboys, kathoey… in Thailand, these words, widely considered rather inappropriate, refer to a
community that fuels fantasies and clichés: transgender women. A myth, maintained by their relative
visibility in Thailand, is that transgender people are well accepted in Thai society and the “land of
smiles” enjoys a reputation for inclusive- ness. In reality, although Thailand is home to one of the
largest LGBTI communities in Asia, transgender people there face persistent hostility and prejudice,
as well as restrictions in family, at school, in public services, in the workplace. As one of them sums it
up: “our lives may not be in danger because of our gender identity, but that doesn’t make Thailand a
paradise for LGBT.” If “ladyboys” are tolerated, to what extent are they really integrated?
