STREET will take place from the 12th of November until the 1st of December 2018. The event is organized by the French Embassy and the Goethe-Institut in Bangkok. During the month of November, Bangkok’s streets will be animated by various events all connected to the world of Urban Art. The event will mix different forms of arts and cultures together to create a lively and inspiring event, inviting graffiti artists, DJs & VJs and hip-hop dancers to take back the street and outdoor spaces. This event is friend of Bangkok Art Biennale.

STREET is co-organized by France and Germany
The Franco-German Cultural Fund was established in 2003 as part of the 40th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, agreed upon by Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer in 1963 to improve the two countries’ relationship. The fund is a joint cultural program that supports projects in culture and arts hat showcase the link between the two countries.
The project reconnects Bangkok citizens with their Streets as canvas for creative expression
The goal is to open new perspectives on the multifaceted megacity of Bangkok. Urban Art can help to reveal the complex beauty of the city. Street Art makes the city more attractive, more liveable; it invites people to get out and discover the city.
Artists will collaborate and share their knowledge
We will offer a highlight of Thai, German and French Street artists to perform in the heart of the city and give them the chance to exchange on their art with the audience. The collaboration of the French Embassy and the Goethe-Institut with local partners is seeking to offer to the best of international and local street artists a unique environment of creative expression.

Alex Face is a well-known and influential graffiti artist in Thailand. Alex Face created a character with an aged, disillusioned child’s face wearing animal costumes.
Mue Bon is a Bangkok-based artist known for his colourful wide wall paintings that often depicts humans and animals of contemporary trends and changing cultures.
P7 is a Bangkok based artist and designer. P7 is playing with the childlike nature of cartoon like shapes, colours, and figures. His work is often playful and disturbing at the same time.
Benzilla is a Bangkok based artist. His art is inspired from pop culture, street culture, music and fashion. He works with the most popular brand such as Levi’s, Vans, Johnnie, Walker, Adidas.
Nev3r is a Bangkok based artist. He loves to share his art which includes wall painting, graffiti, paintings etc. Hanuman Phanommue is the most famous of his art work, which can be found in many places. He also made a design for Hoegaarden Brand.
Kashink’s work is questioning aesthetic codes, the definition of identity. Since 2013, she’s been wearing a pencil-on moustache as her daily makeup.
Kaldea is a French artist living in Paris. Her artistic universe is influenced by different ethnic cultures, futuristic and art deco styles which makes her art unique.
Jace is a French graffiti artist currently living in The Réunion Island. He is mostly known for his Gouzou; little human. With his character, Jace deploys a childish, caustic and derisive world.
Julia Benz is a German artist best known for combining contemporary painting and urban art in a very specific way, by using a highly coloured palette.
Wesr (Danny Figueroa) offers an interesting mix between traditional elements and contemporary aesthetics. His works range from murals to graphic illustrations and paintings.
Jim Avignon is a German contemporary and pop artist. Avignon crafts a visual critique of society. He “rather sells a thousand images for one dollar, than one image for a thousand dollars.”
Samifati A violin, a mapping and some electronic vibes composes this duo of a musician and a videographer. With dreamy melodies and powerful bass, they bring us in a magical trip.
Pockemon Crew is a French hip hop dance company. This worldwide awarded hip-hop crew of 10 dancers tells stories about our contemporary world through impressive compositions.
Compagnie Bakhus creates a poetic performance using hip-hop dance, comedy, video, sounds and music. The thing is that you never know who performs, is it a shadow or someone real?
Margkok & Wa beatbox is a type of music that can be crafted to cause various rhythms. Even if you sometimes don’t believe it, all you can hear is coming out of the mouth of the beatboxers.
Saro is a young prodigy of the beatbox loop station; he composes electro titles at once sharp and catchy thanks to his mouth and his machine.
DJ Koish is a great electronic music lover. His only one rule is to push the boundaries of conventional electronic music exploring new directions while never losing sight of his core passions – playing music, feeling sexy and celebrating life.
DJ Yuu is a Thai electronic producer/DJ, based in Bangkok. He usually does his work in the studio as producer and mix engineer. He usually plays lofi hiphop/electronic type of sound on his sp404.
Context
With meaningful messages, sometimes humoristic, often poetic or political, graffiti was a way to express a point of view about society in Europe. Not a lot of means were required to make Street Art, it was accessible to everyone. Street Art was often a way for citizens to get more familiar with an urban landscape that was sometimes quite hostile.
In Europe, the practice of graffiti became illegal. However, when the Berlin Wall was destroyed in 1989, it was completely covered with slogans, drawings and paintings to celebrate peace and reunification. It is rarely hateful messages that you will see in Street Art, but rather paintings defending peace, taking the side of the disenfranchised or even raising social questions.
Supported by cultural institutions, Street Art opened to the world and never stopped developing. We believe that a Street Art cultural highlight is the best way to empower the creative sensitivity of the city’s inhabitants. It seems important for us to link the different disciplines of Urban Art, in order to show that the world of Street Art can attract a diverse and attentive audience.
Facts
During the month of November, Bangkok’s streets will be animated by various events all connected to the world of Urban Art. The event will invite the best of graffiti artists, DJs & VJs and hip-hop dancers. Thailand has some very original voices that make Thai Street Art so exceptional and they need to be shown. Urban Art can help to reveal the complex beauty of the city.
It is an opportunity for the inhabitants to discover their city in a new way. We will offer a highlight of Thai, German and French Street artists to perform in the heart of the city and give them the chance to exchange on their art with the audience.
With various activities, we want to attract a young audience who can feel at home in its own streets, offering a free and direct access to art. STREET will open at the German Residency with the painting of two original pieces of the Berlin Wall. The STREET event will also be an opportunity to highlight dance and music artists, who will perform in the very heart of modern Bangkok, gathering at MBK and Siam Discovery.
By giving a chance to many artists to perform in an inspiring environment, we want to connect them with the public to inspire a new generation. Street Art is a way for everyone to get engaged actively in their city life.

STREET เป็นการร่วมมือกันระหว่างฝรั่งเศสและเยอรมนี
กองทุนวัฒนธรรมฝรั่งเศส-เยอรมัน (The Franco-German Cultural Fund) ก่อตั้งใน ปี 2003 เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 40 ปีของการลงนามสนธิสัญญาเอลีเซ (Elysée Treaty) ซึ่งเป็นข้อตกลงระหว่างชาร์ล เดอ โกล (Charles de Gaulle) และคอนราด อาเดนาวร์ (Konrad Adenauer) เกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสาธารณรัฐ ฝรั่งเศสและสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนี กองทุนนี้เป็นความร่วมมือทางวัฒนธรรมที่มุ่งเน้นสนับสนุนโครงการด้านวัฒนธรรมและศิลปะที่แสดงถึงความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองประเทศ
กิจกรรมมุ่งเน้นที่จะหลอมรวมชาวกรุงเทพฯเข้าด้วยกันกับถนนอีกครั้ง ให้พื้นที่ถนนกลายเป็นผ้าใบผืนใหญ่ในการถ่ายทอดความคิดสร้างสรรค์
เป้าหมายของงานคือ การเปิดโอกาสให้ ชาวกรุงเทพฯ ได้ค้นพบมุมมองใหม่ของตัวเมือง ซึ่ง urban art จะช่วยดึงเอาความงดงามของตัวเมืองออกมาได้ สตรีทอาร์ตทำให้ เมืองสวยและน่าอยู่มากขึ้น และจะดึงดูดให้ผู้คนออกมาค้นพบเมือง
ศิลปินจะร่วมมือและแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ด้านศิลปะ ไฮไลท์ของงานคือการถ่ายทอดผลงานศิลปะของศิลปินสตรีทอาร์ตชาวไทย เยอรมัน และฝรั่งเศสในใจกลางเมือง และเปิดให้โอกาสให้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนเกี่ยวกับความรู้ ศิลปะกับผู้ชม ความร่วมมือระหว่างสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฝรั่งเศสและสถาบันเกอเธ่ ประเทศไทย กับองค์กรระดับท้องถิ่นในการจัดงานครั้งนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้อต่อการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะให้กับเหล่าศิลปิน

บริบท
ด้วยข้อความที่ลึกซึ้ง บางครั้งก็ขบขัน และบ่อยครั้งเต็มไปด้วยสุนทรีย์และแง่คิดทางการเมือง กราฟฟิตี้เป็นหนทาง ในการถ่ายทอดมุมมองทางสังคมในยุโรป ในการสร้างสตรีทอาร์ตไม่จาเป็นต้องใช้อะไรมากมาย ทุกคนสามารถ เข้าถึงได้ บ่อยครั้งที่สตรีทอาร์ตเป็นวิธีที่ทาให้ผู้คนคุ้นชินกับลักษณะของชุมชนเมือง ที่บางครั้งค่อนข้างจะไม่เป็น มิตร

เราเล็งเห็นถึงความสาคัญในการเชื่อมโยง Urban Art หลายๆแขนงเข้าด้วยกัน เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่าโลกของสตรีท อาร์ตสามารถเข้าถึงผู้ชมที่หลากหลายได้
ข้อเท็จจริง
ในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน ถนนในกรุงเทพฯจะเต็มไปด้วยสีสันของเทศกาลศิลปะมากมายที่ล้วนแล้วแต่เป็นการเปิด
โลกของ Urban Art จะมีการเชิญศิลปินกราฟฟิตี้ ดีเจและวีเจ และนักเต้นฮิปฮอปที่จะมาวาดลวดลายในถนน กรุงเทพฯ ประเทศไทยมีลักษณะพิเศษที่ืทาให้สตรีทอาร์ตของไทยโดดเด่นและนี่คือสิ่งที่ควรนามาแสดงให้คนเห็น
Urban Art จะช่วยดึงเอาความงดงามของตัวเมืองออกมาได้ เป็นโอกาสอันดีที่ชาวเมืองจะได้ค้นพบมุมมองใหม่ของตัวเมือง ไฮไลท์ของงานคือการถ่ายทอดผลงานศิลปะของ ศิลปินสตรีทอาร์ตชาวไทย เยอรมัน และฝรั่งเศสในใจกลางเมืองและเปิดให้โอกาสให้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนเกี่ยวกับ ความรู้ศิลปะกับผู้ชม
ด้วยกิจกรรมที่หลากหลาย เราต้องการที่จะดึงดูดคนรุ่นใหม่ และทาให้พวกเขารู้สึกว่าถนนเหล่านี้คือบ้าน จากการ ได้สัมผัสกับศิลปะโดยตรงโดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ
STREET จะเปิดตัวที่บ้านพักท่านเอกอัครราชทูตเยอรมันประจาประเทศไทยด้วยผลงานภาพวาดต้นฉบับสองชิ้น
แรกจากกำแพงเบอร์ลิน งาน STREET จะเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่จะดึงจุดเด่นของการเต้นและดนตรีออกมา โดยจะมีทั้ง นักเต้นและนักดนตรีที่จะมาร่วมแสดงในบริเวณใจกลางเมืองรอบๆเอ็มบีเค เซ็นเตอร์ และสยามดิสคัฟเวอรี
จากการเปิดโอกาสให้ศิลปินมากมายมาร่วมแสดงในสภาพแวดล้อมที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจ เราต้องการให้บุคคล เหล่านี้เป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้กับคนรุ่นใหม่ สตรีทอาร์ตเป็นวิธีที่จะทำให้ทุกคนเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมกับชีวิตในเมือง ให้ บอกเล่าเรื่องราวที่อยากจะบอกเกี่ยวกับตัวเองและชุมชน
