Galleries Night by Thailand’s French Embassy Brightens Up Bangkok’s Art Scene
French Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Gilles Garachon presided over the opening of Galleries Night at Serindia gallery and Atta gallery, Charoenkrung Soi 36 (Rue de Brest). Now in its fourth edition, the annual two-day event works with over forty participating galleries and art spaces in Bangkok to promote contemporary art. This year, a myriad of fun and exciting activities combined with dynamic exhibitions drew a much larger crowd than the previous years.

Dîner de Clôture – A Magnificent Farewell to Famed Michelin Starred Restaurant, Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier
What a night to remember! Dîner de Clôture, French for “Closing Dinner” of Le Jardin des Sens, a Michelin starred landmark in Montpellier, was one of the most outstanding dinners I attended in 2016. This exceptional three-day event welcomed 18 renowned chefs, some of whom have now their own Michelin stars. These chefs who worked closely with Jacques & Laurent Pourcel and contributed to Le Jardin’s history, flew in from all around the world, some coming from as far as Macau, Bangkok, Singapore, New York and even Moscow. The chefs made their best signature dishes for the event as homage to their mentors. It was truly a privilege to attend the final of the 3 night dinners where seven chefs of “La famille de Chefs” came together to showcase their culinary skills. It was a night of elegance and grandeur filled with exciting moments for loyal customers and chefs who love the Pourcels and “Le Jardin”. It also provided an occasion for the blissful reunion of all the chefs. The closing of such a well-loved restaurant after 28 years of serving the finest cuisine was moving and nostalgic for all who attended. Le Jardin des Sens will continue to live on in our memories.

Bonjour French Fair 2016 : Vive la Mediterranee, 15 to 18 December 2016
“Bonjour French Fair 2016″, Thailand’s biggest French and European Fair under the theme “Vive la Méditerranée”, held by Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Thai – Italian Chamber of Commerce, Jet Airway, and KTC at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, December 15th to 18th 2016. The fair features more than 2,000 premium imported products from France and Mediterranean countries. The event was honored by H.E. Mr. Gilles Garachon, French Ambassador to Thailand, to be the chairperson for the opening ceremony.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over 2016 Bangkok Chef charity dinner in the Royal Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, with this year’s fundraising reached a total of 23 million Baht, the highest since the event was first held 8 years ago.
