ASAI Bangkok Chinatown partners with nomadic chef Iñaki Bolumburu for a pop-up Basque feast at JAM JAM Eatery & Bar Chef Iñaki promises to showcase his eclectic cuisine with strong Basque roots in a unique 10-course dinner – available for two nights only.
ASAI Bangkok Chinatown continues its mouthwatering series of chef collaborations this month with a two-day pop-up dinner event featuring nomadic chef Iñaki Bolumburu.
Held on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 April 2022 at the hotel’s vibrant JAM JAM Eatery and Bar, the event will see Chef Iñaki create a 10-course feast of Basque cuisine – including highlights such as Mussels and seaweed croquette, Hake ‘salsa verde’ with white asparagus, and Mackerel ‘escabeche’ – with optional wine pairings curated by Wine Garage and Soul Wines.
Setting the scene will be funky beats by Beam’s resident DJ, Pragueputth, and Disco Tropico’s DJ Kwoala.
Originally from Derio, a small town on the outskirts of Bilbao, Spain, Chef Iñaki has rich experience working for some of the world’s finest restaurants, such as Mugaritz, San Sebástian, Basque Country; Pure C, Cadzand, Netherlands; Noma, Copenhagen, Denmark; and Nerua, Bilbao, Basque Country. A self-described ‘nomadic chef,’ Chef Iñaki now travels the globe with the intent to not only showcase his eclectic cuisine with strong Basque roots, but also to learn about different cultures, cuisines, techniques, and flavours.
Diners looking for a tasty preview of Chef Iñaki’s cuisine before his Bangkok pop-up can head down to Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, where he’ll cook up a special eight-course feast for Songkran (on Wednesday 13 April), for only THB 2,500++.
