THE 2014 BANGKOK CHEFS CHARITY GALA DINNER RAISES TOTAL 14.5 MILLION IN THE GRACIOUS PRESENCE OF HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCEE MAHA CHAKRI SIRINDHORN The city of angels once again witnessed, for the sixth consecutive year, a gathering of Executive Chefs from 23 of Thailand’s leading five-star hotels and Thai Airways International, who successfully staged a 10-course grand gastronomic feast at the “2014 Bangkok Chefs Charity Gala Dinner”, in the Royal Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. This year’s fundraising session raised a total of Baht 14.5 million with Chamnong Bhirombhakdi family topping the list with a generous donation of Baht 4 million, the highest bidder for the Grand Auction who will enjoy the 23 chefs to cook a gourmet repast at their venue of choice. During the height of the evening, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously demonstrated to all dining guests the preparation of Som Tam which were given to the event’s top bidders before the night came to a happy end. All proceeds will once again go towards Border Patrol Police Schools under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness as well as underprivileged children in the remote Amphur Omkoy in Chiang Mai. The annual talk-of-the-town, gastronomic fete was initiated in 2009 by General Managers Nuntiya and Patcharin Hame-ung-gull of Gourmet One to give back to society and at the same time to showcase the quality, creativity, and distinct style of Bangkok’s foremost food & beverage professionals.
